10 Upcoming Horror Movies We Can’t Escape

The 2015 summer movie season has ended.  The fall movie season is upon us.  Before we start talking about festival darlings and best picture candidates we must first delve head first into horror movie season!

October 30 may be the peak of fear for moviegoers but this year, the scares start in September.  Below you’ll find 10 horror movies we are looking forward to for the rest of 2015!

10. Tales of Halloween (October 30)

Anthology films can be a tough sell but Tales of Halloween certainly has promise.  Boasting a list of directors including Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw 2,3 &4) and Neil Marshall (The Descent), this collection could be extremely fun come Halloween night.

9. Rings (November 13)

The Ring (both versions) was a fantastic horror film.  Rings aims to capitalize on it’s predecessor’s popularity but little is known about the production yet beyond the cast and release date…  That kind of makes the film that much more intriguing.

8. Knock Knock (October 9)

This movie looks like it doesn’t take itself too seriously and will deliver a solid horror/thriller starring Keannu Reeves. (Fresh off his fantastic role as the titular John Wick)

7. Krampus (December 4)

“In German-speaking Alpine folklore, Krampus is a horned, anthropomorphic figure. According to traditional narratives around the figure, Krampus punishes children during the Christmas season who had misbehaved, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards well-behaved ones with gifts.” Wikipedia

A Christmas demon wreaking havoc in campy and unexpected ways?  Done.

6. The Green Inferno (September 25)

Don’t let the release date delays fool you, Eli Roth is one crazy dude.  His dark directorial chops are poised to dominate the Halloween season having directed Knock Knock as well.

5. The Visit (September 11)

M. Night Shyamalan returns to his horror roots in what looks like a creepy thriller.  Many people are asking if this is finally a return to form for him.  Early buzz suggests it may be just that.

4. Before I Wake (September 25)

Haunted house.  Haunted children.  Creepy ghosts…  We’ve seen it all before but dammit we are excited about Before I Wake regardless!

3. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension (October 23)

The final chapter in the Paranormal Activity franchise promises to provide answers to all of the series’ big questions.  Maybe Toby is just misunderstood?  Did you ever consider that!?  Huh!? Get over yourself…

2. Crimson Peak (October 16)

Guillermo Del Toro directed this cinematic motion picture film.

1. Goodnight Mommy (September 11)

This movie snagged the number one spot purely because of it’s creepy trailer.  Hopefully that’s not the only successful element of this creepy looking tale.
