Top 10 Moments – Terminator 2: Judgement Day
Da-na NAAAAAA, DA! NA! naaaaaaaaaaaa….we all know the theme music. James Cameron’s Terminator 2: Judgement Day was the continuation of the story first established in his low budget actioner “The Terminator”. Only this time around the franchise got the full Hollywood treatment.
Everything was bigger in T2, and having the Terminator play the good guy elevated the character to almost super-hero status. But who could possibly be a worthy opponent of the hulking cybernetic organism? A villain made of liquid metal of course! Robert Patrick played the cool, emotionless T-1000 perfectly. T2 was a blockbuster in the summer of 1991. Year’s later, we’re still talking T2!
Here are the Top 10 moments from Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
10. Smiling Terminator
AH-nold has made some pretty ridiculous faces throughout his career, but this one might take the cake.
9. Call Home
We get to see the Terminator and the T-1000 duke it out later on but here we see the mind games being played, as one tries to out-think the other. (Oh, John Connor’s mom? She’s worked with James Cameron before; in Aliens. Private Vasquez. What a difference a hair-do makes.)
8. Hasta La Vista, Baby
What do you think? One of the top 3 Schwarzenegger lines of all time?
7. Clothes, Boots, Motorcycle
The tone for T2 was set in this early scene. You still had the ruthless and rigid determination of the Terminator but unlike it’s predecessor this movie has humor spread throughout. Perfect example, Arnold whips on those sunglasses and George Thorogood’s “Bad to the Bone” kicks in.
6. Cyberdyne Defense
Watching the Terminator wreak havoc from the window of Cyberdyne is pretty cool AND without causing any fatalities. Nice marksmanship!
5. Conveyor Belt
That pure “hero” moment you had been waiting for, right before the Terminator takes care of the T-1000 once and for all.
3. Come With Me if You Want to Live
The machine that hunted you down and killed the man you loved and you watched get crushed to “death” is now somehow back. Only this time, he extends a helping hand as you try to escape a mental facility that he is responsible for putting you into.
He’s also accompanied by your son that you haven’t seen in years.
2. Hallway Shootout
Up until this moment John Connor has never seen the Terminator. You know he knows exactly who he’s looking at when Arnie comes through those doors in slow motion stepping on the dropped roses from his “box of flowers” as he approaches.
1. Truck/Bike Chase
It’s a truck barrelling down on a kid on a dirt bike being followed by Arnold on his motorcycle taking shots at the truck with a pump-action shotgun one-handed. Pretty self-explanatory how awesome this scene is.
